On Monday Anouk came in to show us how to create recycled paper using our paper scraps from in the classroom. It was fun getting our hands squishy wet in the paper mixture. We are saving trees by reusing paper. Trees are very important to us.
We are a year 2 and 3 class in Ohaeawai, Northland, New Zealand. Our class is room 5 & 6 and our wonderful teachers are Mrs Ritchie and Miss Stewart. We have 39 kids in our class and we love to learn, write, read, play and do art.

Swimsafe
Today we had a visit from Corinna, who came to teach us about being swimsafe. We learnt the importance of always wearing a lifejacket when on a boat, how to lie in the water, the signal for being rescued and how to be a tight huddle in a small group to stay safe. We also learnt lots more about being safe at the beach and by any water. One thing we all have to practise is being able to float on our backs, and if we can do that then turn from back to front and back again. Next year Corinna will be back to teach us more about being swimsafe, this time in the water. Be safe around the water everybody.

Kaikohekohe Education Trust Movies
Each year the Kaikohekohe Education Trust has a movie night where the schools create movies and then we share these with all the other schools. As we have had Covid 19 this year we did not have the movie night. Instead the schools did their own screening of the movies in their schools. Here are movies the movies for parents and whanau to view.
